The 2011 Education Summit and Alumni Hall of Fame Gala were celebrated on Monday, October 24^th, at the historic Plaza Hotel in New York City.

EDUCATION SUMMIT

We were honored that Wells Fargo was the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Education Summit, which included presentations from leaders in education, business, philanthropy and government.  The Summit serves as an opportunity to discuss the issues facing Latino families and develop a shared vision for helping more Hispanic students attend college and earn their degree. This year at the Education Summit, three out of twelve students were present at the summit and William Ramos, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce, introduced these STEM students to receive their Obama Scholarship Award. ALUMNI HALL OF FAME

Later that evening, we hosted the 10th Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Gala, where we honored HSF alumni whose accomplishments serve as inspiration to students and families everywhere. This year, we were thrilled to honor Walmart for its commitment to Hispanic higher education and support of scholarships and programs benefiting families throughout the United States.
