Program Description

The HSF/Achievement Scholarship Program is a scholarship available to current community college students residing in Colorado or Texas who intend to transfer to a four-year institution in the fall of 2014

Awards are $1,250 for the 2013-2014 academic year.  Selected students may receive $1250 for the first year and $2500/year for three years at a four-year institution.  Total four years of awards per student of a possible $8,750.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. Citizen, legal permanent resident or eligible non-U.S. citizen
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.
  • Must be a current community college student
  • Must have a permanent address in Denver (CO) or Texas (TX)
  • Must enroll full-time in 2013-2014 in a degree seeking program at one of the following community colleges:
    • Austin Community College (Texas)
    • Community College of Aurora (Colorado)
    • Community College of Denver (Colorado)
  • Must Plan to transfer to a four-year institution in fall 2014 (Preference for University of Colorado, Denver and Texas State Univeristy, San Marcos)
  • Preference given to Pell-eligible and 1st generation students
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in 2013

Community College students must:

  • Be on-track to transfer to a four-year institution in fall of 2014
  • Plan to attend as a full-time student and have completed the following courses:
    • Austin Community College (Texas)
      • English 1301 or 2311
      • Math 1314, 1332 or 1342
    • Community College of Aurora (Colorado)
      • English 121
      • Math 120 or 121
    • Community College of Denver (Colorado)
      • English 121
      • Math 120 or 121
  • A Coupon Code is required to access this application
