Maria S. Salinas, is President & Founder of Salinas Consulting, LLC, a finance and accounting project management firm. Ms. Salinas is a Certified Public Accountant and experienced finance
professional with expertise in leading organizations in financial planning & reporting, controls & compliance, and general accounting matters.  

Salinas Consulting, LLC, was founded in 2006 to service clients in the corporate sector. The Company assists clients by providing exceptional service in finance and accounting, thereby contributing to the overall success of the client’s business. Salinas Consulting has a staff of 10 experienced finance professionals serving clients that include major corporations in Southern California.  Professional services have included leading process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and financial reporting and control projects. 

In 2010, Salinas Consulting was the recipient of the Professional Services Award from the National Latina Business Women’s Professional Association of Los Angeles. The Company was recognized for its leading efforts in providing professional services to its clients.

Professional Experience
Prior to Salinas Consulting, Ms. Salinas held financial leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company
for a span of nearly 11 years. She managed various departments in the Controller’s office of the
Consumer Products division. She oversaw the global operations of Financial Reporting, Accounting
Services, and Controls & Compliance for the division. She was an integral member of the division’s
team that created innovative reporting techniques and streamlined manual processes to gain maximum
efficiency.  During her tenure, she led efforts to form an accounting shared services organization in
the division. She was instrumental in developing the strategic vision and managing the project
through implementation. She served on several company-­‐wide steering committees on behalf of the
division; most significant was as member of the Finance Steering Committee for the implementation
of a new ERP system. Ms. Salinas has a proven record of achieving success in an environment with
bold team goals.

Public Accounting Experience
Ms. Salinas has eight years of public accounting experience, with Ernst & Young LLP and Kenneth
Leventhal & Company. As a member of the Audit Services team, she managed audit engagements of large
publicly traded companies as well as privately held companies. She gained valuable SEC experience
and at Ernst & Young, she was selected to serve on the firm’s national committee on reengineering
audits.   

Education & Certification
Ms. Salinas received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los
Angeles in 1987.  She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1989.
 

Professional & Community Affiliations
Ms. Salinas serves on the Board of Directors of ProAmerica Bank, the first Latino-­‐owned business
bank in California in over 35 years that serves small to mid-­‐sized businesses with a focus on the
Latino business community. She is Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Director’s Loan
Committee and the Governance & Nominating Committee.

Ms. Salinas is a member of the Board of Regents of Loyola Marymount University (LMU). At LMU, Ms.
Salinas has a long history of playing a leadership role in raising scholarship funds for Latino
students with the Mexican American Alumni Association, now named the Latino Alumni Association.  
Over the years, various university committees and has served as guest speaker in the classroom and
at LMU conferences.

In 2012, Ms. Salinas was elected to the Board of Directors of National Council of La Raza (NCLR),
the foremost Latino advocacy organization. She is a member of the Audit Committee and the Finance
Committee.

Since 2011, Ms. Salinas had served on the Board of Directors of Los Angeles Universal Preschool
(LAUP) and as Chair of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Southern California Advisory Board. 

She is a founding member of HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political Equality), a leading
organization promoting the advancement of Latinas in the public and private sectors.

Ms. Salinas’ history of community involvement has been an integral part of her professional career.
She has served on numerous community boards and has been recognized by civic leaders and
organizations like former Lt. Governor Gray Davis, former Mayor Richard Riordan, and the Los
Angeles County Commission on the Status of Women.

Together with her husband Raul, a Los Angeles attorney, they have assisted several community based
organizations to grow into mature organization that can provide a voice for the community they
serve. In 2003, the United Latino Fund honored Raul & Maria for outstanding service to the Latino
community. In 2009, they were honored with KCET’s Local Hero award for their community service.

Ms. Salinas lives in Pasadena, California, with her husband Raul and their four sons, Alejandro,
Nicholas, Francisco & Gabriel.
