Latino Higher Education - A National Priority

Low college-attainment rates are worrisome when, at 52 million, Latinos are the largest and fastest growing minority in the U.S.Latinos represent one in 4 Americans under the age 18, and one in five K-12 school children – many with parents who lack a high-school or college education.

In spite of their growing numbers among the U.S. population, only 21 Latinos out of 100 who start in elementary school ever graduate from college. Overall only 13 out of 100 Latinos have a 4-year college degree.
