Anahi Godinez

Director of Alumni Engagement, Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Anahi Godinez serves as senior analyst for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.  Anahi is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and is a native of Avondale, Arizona.  As a first generation college student she is keenly aware of the benefits of the mentoring and financial assistance HSF provides.  Anahi began her career as a human resources professional with Arizona Public Service (APS). During her time at APS she created pipeline programs educating college students about careers in the energy industry and coordinated internship opportunities within the company.  Anahi greatly enjoyed her work with college students and quickly recognized the need to reach further down the pipeline in order to ensure more students had the opportunity to obtain a college education.

For this reason she transitioned to the Be a Leader Foundation where she served as Director of College Access Programs. During her time with BALF Anahi was responsible for program management, partnership development and expansion. Anahi joined the organization when only one program in one school district existed.  During her time at BALF the organization grew to serve over 1,000 students from a multitude of school districts in its year round programs and nearly 3,000 students in annual events such as its annual Taking Steps Towards College Success Walkathon and Youth Leadership Conferences.  Anahi is thrilled to build upon this work and continue to serve as a resource to the Latino community in helping students reach their college going aspirations through her new role at HSF.

Anahi holds a B.S. in Business Management from Arizona State University and a M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Scholarship programs and mentors were what made my family’s journey from Mexico to Harvard possible.  Everyday I’m grateful my role at HSF has allowed me to make a career of bringing these resources to a greater number of Latino families.
