Evelyn Lucero has been married to her husband Hector for over thirty years, and they have three daughters and one son. As a proud mother, she has seen the remarkable transformation and growth a college education has instilled upon her children. Evelyn is a fluent Spanish and English speaker with over 15 years of experience in customer service. Evelyn worked for Alaska Air Cargo for eight years, followed by seven years of employment with Sunny wood Products.
Evelyn enjoys volunteering at her church. She has been heavily involved in the children’s ministry for ten years. She started as a K- Preteen Sunday school teacher, and currently serves as Coordinator for a group of twelve Children’s Ministry Teachers. Evelyn also enjoys singing and is an active member in her church’s choir.
Here at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Evelyn provides the front line response and customer service to all inquiries over the phone, providing student and families with the information they may need to access HSF's scholarships and programs.
I am passionate about utilizing education as a tool of empowerment; HSF enables me to do this with students and families across the country every day. Vicariously, this experience has empowered me to help other students and families navigate the college application and financial aid processes as well as the beautiful family experience that may come along with it.
