Juana currently serves as the Director of Corporate Development for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. (HSF). In this role, she is responsible for day to day management of all HSF corporate relationships. As the primary organizational point of contact for our corporate partners, Juana ensures that our work with corporate America aligns with our leadership’s guiding principles. Specifically, Juana helps to identify, establish and maintain strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 companies in their support of the HSF, with an emphasis on fundraising and account management. She works closely with the programs and scholarship teams to ensure donor satisfaction. Finally, working closely with regional advisory boards (external advisors to HSF), Juana assists in identifying key local strategies to assist the organization in the areas of alumni relations, marketing/outreach, and fundraising.
Prior to joining HSF, Juana was Executive Vice President at LATINAStyle. Inc. a multi-media, multi-platform women’s empowerment organization, with an emphasis on the Latina working woman and her family. LATINAStyle provides programs and services to its external audiences and stakeholders via a bi-monthly publication (LATINA Style Magazine) with a circulation of 500,000 per issue, 3 flag ship events in Washington, DC, and 6 local business development/career development programs throughout the nation. In this role, Juana defined organizational priorities to advance the mission of the company, working directly with the President & CEO and Board of Directors. Additionally, she managed the fundraising, marketing, sales, and advertising aspects of the company.
Juana is a published expert in the field of economic and community development with nearly 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, working with organizations and entities that focus on Hispanic, women’s, and economic development issues. Her commitment to these efforts has gone beyond the workplace and into her volunteer time, having also served on the Board of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, New York City’s Community Board 11 (East Harlem), the Mt. Sinai Hospital Community Advisory Board (New York City). Juana currently sits on the Board of the Latin American Legal Defense Fund (LALDEF) in New Jersey. Juana holds a Bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the National Urban Fellows Program (Baruch College CUNY). Juana, her husband, two daughters, four rescue dogs and one rescue cat live in New Jersey at this time.
