Margarita Flores is dedicated to enhancing and developing a positive image in the community for Anheuser-Busch and its products. She works hand-in-hand with organizations throughout the United States that strive to improve economic development, preserve cultural heritage, expand educational opportunities, and develop leaders in the Latino and Asian Pacific American communities. Flores serves as the liaison to create strategic alliances between Anheuser-Busch Inc., its distributors, and the community.
A primary goal in her role in the development of community outreach strategies is to enrich and improve the quality of life in the communities Anheuser-Busch serves. Flores joined Anheuser Busch in 1996 as Corporate Relations Manager for the Southwest. In 2000, she was promoted to Director, Community Relations where she developed national outreach plans and led a team of field managers in executing local community outreach plans. In 2003, she was promoted to Senior Director of Community Relations and was responsible for developing department strategy and managing the department’s communication plan, including advertising, media buys, Web page, public relations, and national programs development. Prior to joining Anheuser-Busch, Flores was Senior Account Executive at MB&A Communications, an international public relations firm, where she managed the public, media, corporate and community relationships for clients such as Anheuser-Busch, MCI, and NAD Bank. Flores gained valuable experience in the world of global corporate communications, issues management, and event marketing.
Flores is well-recognized in the U.S. Hispanic community not only for her work through Anheuser-Busch but for her personal involvement with educational institutions, veterans’ support groups, and business development organizations. She is a corporate advisory board member of the American GI Forum, United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, League of United Latin American Citizens, and the National Hispanic Corporate Council. She serves as a board member of the Notre Dame Task Force on Latino Education, and Museo Alameda Smithsonian.
A native of Mexico, Flores has received various awards as an advocate for Hispanic culture and progress and as a distinguished Latina professional. She attended St. Mary’s University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international business and was recognized as the International Business Student of the Year. She has also received awards for her business leadership and commitment to positive social change, including the Mujeres Project “Mujer a Mujer” award; the St. Louis Hispanic Chamber of Commerce “Corporate Citizen of the Year” award; La Prensa Foundation “Salute to Latina Women in Action” award, and the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Most Influential Minority” award. Most recently, she was selected as one of the 2008 Latin Chamber of Commerce of USA's “Successful Hispanic Women of the Year.”
