Partnering with Fortune 1000 companies in their workplace giving campaigns is a cornerstone of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund's efforts that carries special meaning. Employees enjoy working for a company that is a responsible corporate citizen and a steward of the people and locations in which it operates. Hence, employees actively involved in workplace giving initiatives can have a particularly positive impact, which ultimately benefits customers, shareholders, communities, and markets. In addition, workplace giving campaigns are a channel that allows individuals to contribute through donations, and affirm the spirit of giving, on a broader field than is generally available to them, on their own.
Your company and its employees can be the difference between a student’s aspirations and their academic and lifetime achievements. We welcome your participation.
If you are an employee, read on! Every contribution, no matter the scale, sustains and expands all of our programs and makes a difference in the lives of many Latino students and their families. HSF offers several options for supporting HSF scholarship candidates and Scholars at your place of employment. You can contribute via payroll deduction, matching gifts programs and special event campaigns. You can also participate through your Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), your non-CFC state and municipal workplace employee campaigns, as well as through any United Way campaign.
Many employers offer payroll deductions, as a vehicle for employee donations. A gift made each pay period through payroll deduction is an easy way to provide year-round support and mentorship to HSF’s scholarship candidates and Scholars. You can contribute whatever you can afford. There is no minimum.
Matching gifts are a vital source of funding for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Several organizations support a matching gifts program, which enables employees to double or even triple their gifts. Please remember to submit your request to your Human Resources personnel. They will provide a matching gift form or let you know if your company does online approvals. We appreciate your help.
With corporate philanthropy programs evolving, employees are uniting to organize their own specialized campaigns. For example, workplace committees have designed programs of this type to highlight the need for college education in Latino families. We can assist through the company’s workplace giving program. For instance, the workplace committee leader can work closely with the HSF workplace giving manager to create events around education and heritage forums. A secure on-line tool kit is stocked with a variety of campaign ideas and tools. For more information on conducting a fundraising event for HSF, please contact us by clicking here.
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), non-CFC state and municipal workplace campaign, and United Way also provide opportunities for you to participate and support the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. You can designate your contribution on the pledge card by entering “Hispanic Scholarship Fund - CFC number 11502” where it asks for the CFC Charity I.D. number. For the United Way campaigns, please write in “HSF” on your United Way pledge card.
