GOYA Scholarship Program

Description

The HSF/GOYA Scholarship Program is a scholarship of $5,000 awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year for students entering a two-year or four-year institution who are children of GOYA employees, brokers, or independent drivers. Awards for $5,000 are renewable for up to three additional years (2015-2016 through 2017-2018) provided the student remains eligible to receive funding and is still an undergraduate 2-year or 4-year student.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a child of a GOYA employee, broker, or independent driver with at least one year of employment or affiliation at GOYA
  • GOYA employee, broker or independent driver must be a member in good standing and remain employed or affiliated with GOYA for the duration of the time their child is participating in the GOYA Scholarship Program for potentially up to four years
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  • Must enter a Coupon Code provided by GOYA Foods for this program
  • Plan to enroll full-time starting in 2014-2015 in a degree seeking program with the U.S. as a
  • Freshman, sophomore, junior or senior at a four-year U.S. accredited institution
  • OR a1st  year, 2nd year or 3rd year student at a two-year institution
  • Candidate must be obtaining their 1st undergraduate degree
  • Must be willing to complete 10 hours per month of community service; this activity to be tracked by GOYA
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  DACA applicants must submit household income information.
