HSF/Coca-Cola® Family Dollar Scholarship Program

Description

Family Dollar, COCA-COLA® and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund scholarship awards are designed to assist students attending college in 2014-2015 as freshman and 1st year students. The awards are as follows:

     One Prize:  $10,000 each; and
     Three Prizes: $5,000 each.

Open to the general public of the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,  Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be of Hispanic heritage
  • All majors are eligible
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) or be granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
  • Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have a permanent address in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,  Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming.
  • Must be enrolled as a High School Senior in the fall of 2013.
  • Must plan to enroll full-time during the 2014-2015 academic year in a degree-seeking program at a four-year institution as a freshman or a two-year institution as a 1st year student at an accredited  U.S. institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands or Guam.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older as of September 1, 2013.
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). DACA applicants must submit household income information.
