Community Outreach Events
HSF community outreach events are bilingual workshops that provide practical tools for choosing a college education, preparing and paying for college. These events are held throughout the United States and are often held in the evenings and weekends so that parents and their children can attend together.
Town Hall Meetings (THMs)
These are bilingual sessions where students and their families receive information about the value and affordability of a college education. In two hour evening programs, our bilingual outreach staff covers the essentials of college preparation, financial aid process, the steps involved in applying for scholarships and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). College representatives are usually present and can speak with students and parents about any questions they have regarding admissions and financial aid process.

Steps for Success Saturdays (S4S)
Steps for Success Saturdays are half-day specialized instruction, offering a range of college preparation workshops for middle and high school students and their parents. The curriculum covers how-to-instruction on taking the SAT or ACT, information on the financial aid and assistance in writing a personal statement (essay) for applications and scholarships and guidance to finding a college. The workshop schedule for participants will vary by grade level and the parent workshops are bilingual (Spanish and English).
We also invite and encourage middle school students to take advantage of this day to learn about preparing for standardized college admission tests and other topics to help them prepare for college at this stage of their schooling.
