Where can I learn more about the programs offered by HSF and when are applications available?
HSF offers several scholarship programs that become available at different times in the year. Beginning September of every year, scholarships become available for the upcoming academic year. Visit our website and click on “scholarships” to see the various programs that we have to offer. Click on "view requirements" in order to view the scholarship application timeline, scholarship description and eligibility requirements.
How do I apply?
Visit www.hsf.net, hover your mouse over the word "scholarships" located in the red bar at the top. Click on "Apply Online" from the drop-down list in the Online Application Management System.
If you are new to the HSF site, you must first register in order to create an account. You can only register ONE account. Be sure to DOUBLE CHECK the information you are submitting to ensure it is true and accurate.
Once you submit the registration page and your information successfully transmits, an email will be sent to you. Click on the link provided in the email to activate your HSF account. Log in and begin the next steps:
- Academic Profile (step 1).
- Please know the Academic Profile is not an application for a scholarship. Here you are providing current and intended academic information. The information you submit will determine your eligibility to apply for scholarships.
- It is imperative the questions and answers are reviewed BEFORE they are submitted. Once the Academic Profile is submitted, it will be locked and changes/updates may not be made.
- Applicants may update address or contact information by clicking on "profile" link in the upper left corner of the homepage. Access to any other information will not be available.
- If you need to make changes to your "intended" information on your academic profile, only those applicants who proceed to the next phase of the process will have an opportunity to update this information at a later time.
- General Scholarship Application (step 2): If you meet the eligibility criteria based on your Academic Profile, the application will be offered in this step to apply for an HSF Scholarship.
- Additional Scholarship Applications (step 3): If you are eligible for any other scholarships applications (aside from step 2) they will be offered in this step. These applications can be specific in regards to their eligibility requirements. We encourage applicants to review the scholarship descriptions for eligibility criteria.

Do I need an email account to apply for a scholarship?
Yes. If you do not have an email address there are several Internet Service Providers such as: Hotmail, Gmail, AOL, and Yahoo who offer email addresses at no cost. If you choose to use a .edu address, please know that some servers of those addresses may filter out our emails and you will need to be sure to periodically check your spam and/or junk mail for filtered out mail.
*Please note, that each applicant must use their own personal email address and not a family member’s email address.
Why are no scholarships available for me?
There may be several reasons why there are no scholarship applications available to you. We encourage you to check your answers for the intended school information in your academic profile. Be sure that you satisfy the general eligibility requirements for HSF scholarship programs. In addition, be sure that the scholarship program you are interested in is currently open.
