BYLANDER ARROYO SELECTED AS HSF NORTHEAST REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT
SAN FRANCISCO, April 28, 2008- Yovanka Bylander Arroyo, a former Wall Street equities analyst, has been hired by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) as Regional Vice President of the HSF Northeast Regional office in New York City.
Bylander Arroyo joins HSF after 15 years of corporate and nonprofit management experience. Most recently, she worked with Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) in New York, where she raised funds for the organization from a variety of individuals, corporations, foundations, and special events.
Her hiring reflects HSF’s efforts to raise awareness and increase financial scholarship support for the nation’s largest-growing segment of the nation’s population, according to U.S. Census figures. Bylander Arroyo is the most recent addition to a growing number of professionals HSF has hired in key markets across the country to focus on raising additional funds for these educational awards.
Bylander Arroyo has worked with distinguished corporations, such as Morgan Stanley and Fox-Pitt, Kelton, as a Latin American Banks Analyst, which led her to publish articles in Latin Finance magazine. She also worked with Thomson BankWatch as VP of Latin American Bank Research. She is passionate about higher education and empowering today’s students for future successful careers.

Bylander Arroyo said her main objective is to assist as many Latinos as possible through increased fundraising. “I now have the opportunity to combine my passion for educational with my business experience to help lead one of the most respected, nonprofit organizations.”
Bylander Arroyo is a renowned speaker and a guest lecturer at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. She speaks four languages: English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. An Ecuadorian-American, she attended Boston University and graduated with honors, earning her B.A. degree in Business Administration.

The Northeast Regional Office, located in New York City, works in collaboration with HSF's national headquarters to host Town Hall Meetings and Steps for Success Saturdays and informs high school counselors and other educational leaders about its outreach initiatives.
