Program Description

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and College Access Foundation have partnered to provide scholarship awards to assist outstanding Latinos who are high school seniors from Inland Empire (California counties of Riverside and San Bernardino) and that are planning to enroll at either the University of California-Riverside or California State University of San Bernardino during the 2009-2010 academic year.  Selected students may receive the award for four years at $3000 per year.

All selected scholars will receive the benefit of participating in a Student Support Services program provided by their respective universities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be of Hispanic heritage.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired).
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be an Inland Empire resident of Riverside or San Bernardino County.
  • Must be a graduating high school senior with plans to enroll FULL-TIME at the University of California-Riverside or CSU San Bernardino during the 2009-2010 academic year.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need with priority given to students who are Pell grant eligible and those who have unmet need.
  • Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students must be first generation to attend college.
