Jasmine Rezai is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives & Marketing at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). In this role, she is in charge of creating strategies that will build HSF’s brand to increase awareness, fundraising revenue, and relevance among HSF’s target audience segments. She is responsible for developing and cultivating partnerships with media, entertainment, corporate, and community entities. She has been further tasked to create national initiatives for HSF, which include launching strategic partnership programs, implementing marketing and public relations plans, and executing support programs, services, and events, in order to achieve HSF’s goals of substantially increasing the number of college scholarships it provides, as well as the services it offers to HSF Scholars and millions of students and families across the country.
Ms. Rezai manages and mobilizes teams charged with executing strategies that support these objectives. She oversees HSF’s Alumni and Volunteer Engagement, Career Services, Strategic Partnerships, Mentor Program, Events and the Marketing Communications teams. She reports to the President and CEO, and serves as a member of the executive team. She is also a spokesperson for HSF, communicating HSF’s mission and programs to the public, in various media.
Ms. Rezai’s real passion lies in working to develop tomorrow’s new leaders. It is this particular interest that brought her to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and to also serving as a mentor in HSF’s Mentorship Program. She brings inside knowledge to her work at HSF– both professionally and personally – as an HSF Alum who was a recipient of an HSF college scholarship.
Equipped with 20 plus years of experience in the entertainment and media industry, building sales and marketing campaigns, Jasmine Rezai uses her expansive network to build strategic partnerships, to achieve business objectives, and connect with key decision makers, on HSF’s behalf.
She launched her career in the media and entertainment industry in 1992 at Univision Communications Inc. where she rose to the position of Director of Affiliate Sales there, and then Vice President of Affiliate Marketing, orchestrating the development and implementation of marketing initiatives for all the Univision Cable Networks.
Ms. Rezai has won numerous marketing awards such as CableFAXIES Best Direct Marketing Campaign (2008) and three NAMIC Awards for Excellence in Marketing (2006 and 2008).
After serving at Univision, she worked in business development for several leading media companies, including Telemundo and BET Networks. Within that role, she cultivated effective business relationships with decision-makers for national corporate accounts. Internally, Ms. Rezai collaborated with marketing resources and sales leadership teams to define overall sales strategy and to develop campaigns responsive to the advertiser's business. Her extensive experience in agency business, ratings negotiations, forecasting, account development, and applying market intelligence helped her develop sales strategies for the companies she served.
During her tenure in business development, she cultivated partnerships with a number of leading Fortune 500 companies such as Paramount Pictures, NBC Universal Pictures, Summit Entertainment, Focus Features, 20th Century Fox, Activision, Amazon, Apple, Clorox, Crown Imports, Lexus, Taco Bell, Target, Ubisoft, Dish, Time Warner Corp, Comcast, Cox Communications, Verizon, and AT&T.
She is fluent in Spanish and holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, one in History and the other in Latin American Studies. Ms. Rezai was born and raised in Los Angeles and is of Peruvian and Iranian descent. In her free time, Ms. Rezai enjoys music, international travel and learning about different cultures.
