Anahi Godinez

Director of Alumni and Volunteer Engagement, Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Full Bio

Anahi Godinez serves as Director of Alumni and Volunteer Engagement for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.  Anahi is responsible for the programs and events that enable and encourage HSF Alumni and supporters to connect with HSF, including the LUNA (Latinos Uniting & Networking for Advancement ) reception series, HSF Mentor Match program, HSF Ambassador/Volunteer program, and HSF’s Regional Advisory Councils.

Anahi began her career as a human resources professional with Arizona Public Service (APS). During her time at APS, she created pipeline programs educating college students about careers in the energy industry and coordinated internship opportunities within the company.  Anahi greatly enjoyed her work with college students and quickly recognized the need to reach further down the pipeline in order to ensure that more students had the opportunity to obtain a college education.  For this reason she transitioned to the Be a Leader Foundation where she served as Director of College Access Programs. At BALF, Anahi was responsible for program management, partnership development and expansion.  During her time at BALF the organization grew from serving 100 students in one school district to over 1,000 students from many school districts, in its year round programs, and nearly 3,000 students in annual events, such as its annual Taking Steps Towards College Success Walkathon and Youth Leadership Conferences.

Anahi has served on the board of Arizona State University’s Hispanic Business Alumni Chapter and was a founding board member of Phoenix Collegiate Academy.

Anahi graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State’s University W.P. Carey School of Business with a   B.S. in Business Management.  She received her M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also a proud graduate of Valle del Sol’s Hispanic Leadership Institute and Valley Leadership’s Leadership Institute.

Anahi is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and is a native of Avondale, Arizona.  As a first generation college student, and an alum of both the Be a Leadership Foundation and HSF, she is keenly aware of the benefits of the mentoring and financial assistance HSF provides. Anahi is thrilled to build upon her work and continue to serve as a resource to the Latino community in helping students reach their college-going aspirations through her role at HSF.

Scholarship programs and mentors were what made my family’s journey from Mexico to Harvard possible.  Everyday, I’m grateful my role at HSF has allowed me to make a career of bringing these resources to a greater number of Latino families.
