Suzie Castillo is the Workplace Giving manager for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF). In this role, she engages the employees of HSF’s Corporate Partners to encourage fundraising through workplace giving.
Prior to joining HSF, she was Director of Sales and Marketing for a Brookdale Senior Living community, and Director of Business Development for Van Nuys Community Hospital. During her years in the healthcare industry, she implemented marketing and other communications to ensure the sustainability of the census, managed a team, and developed a strong community of network referrals.
An immigrant from Mexico City, Suzie’s mission mirrors that of HSF. She received her Psychology degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills, while making time to volunteer within her church and the South Bay Community. She is happily married and the proud mother of a 6- year old daughter.
Confucius said that if you choose a job you love, you will never work a day in your life. I am blessed to have a job that I love and where my efforts make a daily difference in the lives of future leaders. It satisfies me knowing that my daughter, along with Latino community, will have HSF as a resource to assist with scholarships, programs, and the tools necessary to make their higher education dream a reality.
