The College Camp Series will feature bilingual workshops and panels led by college representatives, community leaders, and business professionals for middle school students, high school students, and their parents.
The day-long event will provide participants with the tools and information needed to navigate their own path to a higher education. Workshops will conclude with an Opportunity Drawing for HSF gift bags, a $100 Wells Fargo prepaid card, and an iPad mini!

Vice President, Sr. Community Development Officer
Leo Toca currently serves as Vice President, Sr. Community Development Officer for Wells Fargo in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties; a position that he has held since 2009. In this capacity Leo helps to manage the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performance which includes Lending, Investments and Services related to Affordable Housing and Community Development.
In addition, Leo works with various community organizations to leverage human and financial resources to create responsible solutions that help all our communities grow and prosper, especially low-to-moderate income communities.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Leo served as the Community Development Program Manager for JPMorgan Chase in New York. Leo’s career stretches more than eighteen years in banking; including areas of Community Development, Community Relations, Mortgage Originations and the Foundation. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his dedication and service and has been featured in several publications including Miami Today and Long Island Hispanic Magazine.
Leo serves on several local boards including Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida and ACCION East. He recently completed Leadership Miami with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the 2011 Sales and Service award from Wells Fargo for his dedication to the community.
Leo earned a BA in Economics from Fordham University and a Carroll School of Management Certificate in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College.
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Florida International University (FIU)
Jody Glassman is the Director of Undergraduate Admission at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Fla., where she oversees all student recruitment operations and develops strategic plans for undergraduate enrollment.
Previously she was an Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment Programs at The College Board and a Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Glassman holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Enrollment Management. Prior to a career in Enrollment Management, Glassman worked for the Walt Disney Resort in Orlando.
Shayla Rivera was born and raised in Puerto Rico. After obtaining a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Psychology at Texas A&M University, Shayla spent 8 years working for NASA. From there she moved on to stress management corporate trainings and motivational speaking, where Shayla discovered her comedic talents.
A self-proclaimed Awareness Expert, Shayla has come to know one basic truth, “The best way to learn, grow and change, in other words be enlightened, is to lighten up.” Approaching very serious subjects with a very light heart, Shayla helps young and old alike become clear about the
personal beliefs that might be getting in the way of their real desires.
With numerous awards and accolades throughout her engineering, comedy and speaking careers Shayla is not easily placed in just one category or class, she defines her own.
